Charges
What a Muslim funeral costs with us
A funeral with us has one charge for the arranging, plus the fee the cemetery sets for the grave. Nothing is added that is not part of an Islamic burial.
Answered 24 hours a day.
What makes up the total
Our charge for arranging the funeral
Collection at any hour, care at our premises, ghusl and kafan, the janazah arrangements, the paperwork, and attendance at the burial. One charge, the same for every family.
Cemetery fees
The grave, its exclusive right of burial, and the digging and backfilling. Set by the cemetery, not by us, and usually the largest part of the total.
Extras, only if needed
Collection from outside London, repatriation, embassy fees, additional transport, or a memorial stone ordered later.
Why we do not publish a single price
Cemetery fees differ between boroughs and are reviewed each year, and they are the largest part of most funerals. Publishing one figure would mislead families. Instead, we give an itemised quotation for your actual case, usually within the same telephone call.

How to get a quotation
Call us
Tell us where your loved one is and which area the family lives in, on 07852 268014.
We check the cemetery
We confirm grave availability and the current cemetery fee with the cemetery office for that specific burial.
You get it in writing
An itemised quotation showing our charge, the cemetery fee and any extras, before anything is committed.
We talk about help if you need it
Where cost is a worry, we explain the Lawaaris fund and the Funeral Expenses Payment.
If a family cannot afford the funeral
Muslims Funeral Services is a UK registered charity, number 1149022. Our Lawaaris community fund pays towards the funerals of people who die without family in this country, and towards funerals that families cannot afford. No family is turned away for being unable to pay.
If you receive certain benefits, the Department for Work and Pensions may pay a Funeral Expenses Payment towards burial fees and other costs. Tell us and we will explain whether a claim is likely to help.
Questions about cost
How much does a Muslim funeral cost?
It depends mainly on the cemetery, because cemetery fees are usually the largest part of the total. Call us and we will give you a written quotation for your case, itemised so you can see what each part costs.
Are your charges the same for everyone?
Our own charge for arranging the funeral is the same for every family. What changes is the cemetery fee, and any extras such as repatriation.
Do I have to pay before the funeral?
Cemetery fees are payable to the cemetery in advance of the burial. Talk to us about the rest and we will be practical about it.
What if my family cannot afford the funeral?
Tell us. Our Lawaaris community fund pays towards funerals families cannot afford, and no family is turned away for being unable to pay.
Can I get help from the government?
If you receive certain benefits you may be able to claim a Funeral Expenses Payment from the Department for Work and Pensions. We will tell you whether it is worth applying and what the claim needs.
Are there charges for things I have not asked for?
No. We do not sell upgrades, and we do not add anything to a funeral that is not part of an Islamic burial.
